My past is a stamp of me. It verifies me and sends me. Recently at the Chamber of Commerce honoring dinner I represented my father who had received the award for community service. At the beginning of mentioning former recipients, JACKIE KELSEY was called out. I stood because it was a singular naming just as I was alone. The time for looking at the group seemed embarrassing long to me so I stopped and sat down. They honored me while they honored my father. There was substantial clapping matched by the chamber president waiting to greet me and thank me for coming.
His words carried feeling as he told me how much he missed my father. It seemed that my father and I were one. I was grateful because in a way I had emerged in my community. It had taken several years for me to stand tall after the end of the family and selling the farm. This Memorial Day I honor all family who has gone before accumulating good in this world and allowing me to proclaim it.
Time is one and we are one. God is Good and there is only one Power
